||Hi there Debbie,
Thank you for the wonderful binder and all
the goodies inside the box. I'm happy she's
coming a day later since it will give me a
chance to study!
I'm so impressed with your thoroughness
and attention to detail. I have a lot to learn.
I'm curious as to what was the criteria for the
other puppies being chosen before
Whimsy? I never saw what the others looked
like but I so loved her expression that she
would have been my first choice. Was it
personality? I saw a video of Mr. Green and
he looked like he had a lot of energy.
Thank you again for all the great information.
You have done an outstanding job in
preparing me for Whimsy and bringing me
up to date on puppy rearing. You've done a

I want you to know Bandit has worked out
perfectly in our family. He was a good puppy,
easy to train, and always eager to please.
Three grandchildren keep him very busy with
lots of attention. He enjoys walks around our
neighborhood and frequent walks to the
beach here in Huntington Beach. Bandit is
smart, obedient, lovable and very healthy. He

We had a one year birthday party for him on

including frequent grooming. We all
appreciate the fact that there is no odor or

I am very glad we discovered Fern Ridge on

learned lots of tricks. His favorite
things to do includes riding in the
Jeep, riding on the pontoon (with his
life vest of course), and playing in the
snow with his toys in the winter, and
playing outside with his toys in the
summer and in his kiddie pool. He has

Thank you again for all of your attention and
help to make sure that Spencer arrived in LA
with no issues or difficulties.
He is an amazing little guy. As you
mentioned during our email exchanges, he
is very attentive and is the cutest guy ever! As
I walk him in a restricted area, people come
across the street and we are stopped every
day multiple times. . . .I think I will have to get
a vest or harness for him that indicates that
he is in training so that we can do the
training work on the agenda!
We started puppy kindergarten for learning
and socialization as well as having a few
personal lessons. The instructor uses
Spencer repeatedly to demonstrate the new
commands because he is so willing to learn,
learns quickly and is very responsive. He has
bouts when he is very active but most of the
time he is a mellow little guy and he provides
lots of comedy here at the house every day!
Thank you again for all that you do!
All the best-
||We are so grateful to Debbie for our
sweet, sweet pup Roggie (Darla and

curious, cuddly, and oh-so-smart! We

temperament wherever we go. He is
the perfect addition to our little family-
thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hope you are well!!

Just a quick update on Toby. He did great at
his first vet appointment today where he got
his nails trimmed, a good bill of health, and
his booster shot. He will go back in three
weeks for more shots and a stool sample
check. He weighed thirteen pounds
He behaved well in the car on the way home,
even though it was a long drive. He has
slept in his crate all night long since his first
night with us and never barks or whimpers
until about 5:30 am. He walks well on the
leash and is almost completely potty trained.
The poochie bells work well, and he knew
how to use them from the first day. We have
exposed him to lots of other dogs and
people, and he gets along well with all. I
couldn’t be more pleased with him.
Here is a current picture, taken today after his
vet appointment. Thank you for everything.
We all love Charlie. He is such a
happy boy. We had a visit with the
neighbors and they loved him as well. I
have babysitters coming out the ears.
He slept great in bed with me last
night. We went out once at 2 AM for a
potty break and then he slept until 6
AM. He's a very good boy and well on
his way to being housebroken.

under 7 months, although he is headstrong...
he is sweet and willing to learn anything. He
has been in cars/trucks, grocery stores,
parks, coffee shops, wineries and
restaurants. He acts perfectly in all aspects,
especially when he has his training vest on.
He doesn't bark, kennels, loads and now

knows both verbal and hand cues for come,

calming their nerves and bringing joy to their
We are training him to be a service dog, but

Rusty has brought so much joy to our family.
Such a loving, playful, smart lil guy. He
sleeps just as hard as he plays. He loves to
cuddle with his cow and sleep belly up. His
new Sister, Gracie, is cautiously optimistic
about his puppy exuberance. He's doing
great with sit and down, and no accidents in

watching him learn and explore.

||Hi Debbie: Just touching base to let you
know how we're doing. Finley is so smart
and seems to be adjusting really well. The
first night I needed to come to the crate
several times to comfort her, but last night I
stayed on the couch (and we both got some
needed rest). She's reliably doing her
business in the yard and adores the
doorknob bells although hasn't yet fully
grasped their real purpose, but we're
working on it.
Today I saw the first indications of her lively
side. I pulled out a plastic water bottle as you
recommended, and it was a huge success!
At first it frightened her because it rolled and
"talked" when she bit on it, but tonight she
approached it fearlessly. She's enjoying our
forays around the yard.
Your packet is so helpful, lots of great
articles, thank you!
I did join the FB page and will post Finley's
photo there now.
All the best to you, Pat, Eugene, Or.
I hope all is well with you. I'm sorry that
it's been so long since I updated you
on Beau. As you can see, he's
wonderful. We're waiting to start him in
the next obedience class. He's so
smart already though. He sits, stays,
comes, heels fetches, gives his paw,
and he even knows his left from right.
Only issue we've been dealing with is
him chewing, but we're getting through
it. Thank you for such a great dog! I'll
try to keep you updated more often.
||Hi Debbie! Sorry I haven't emailed for awhile,
we've been busy enjoying the end of our
summer and gearing up for the start of the
new school year. Here's a picture of Sweet
Pea sending Abigail off to her first day of 5th
grade today. Sweet Pea is doing excellent!!
We are so thrilled with her! We love her to
pieces! She has bonded so well to Abigail
and has helped her be so much more calm
and confident already. We had so much fun
camping with her this summer. She
absolutely loved the beach and made all of
our family (whom we were camping with) fall
in love with her! She has even made friends
with my parents' 2 cats! In fact, everyone who
meets her, loves her immediately! We feel so
blessed to have her part of our family. Thank
you again, we are so grateful! ~Krista

and about 19” in height. We are absolutely

so loving, gentle and even well-mannered.
We have been amazed at how easy he has
been to train—in some cases he doesn’t
even need to be trained it is like he knows
how he should behave. He loves his huge
pile of toys and treats them all with respect;
loves water whether it be mud puddles,
wading pools or the spray nozzle or just plain
old rain; loves to run and run and run; loves
to snoop (particularly in the trash can); loves
to play fetch but really, really likes to play
fetch when he gets a cookie treat; loves to go
for rides; loves everybody and just can’t wait
to play with other pooches.
He is a family member now and we can’t
imagine life without him. Thank you for
allowing us to have him.
I hope all is well with you. What a fantastic
year of beautiful puppies! I know you must
be proud. I want you to know how proud we
are of Finley (Darla x Spanky) and what joy he
has brought us this first year. He is
absolutely the apple of our eyes! He is kind,
sensitive, loyal, obedient, and playful. He
loves the water and looks forward to paddle
boarding and boat riding. He is also an
amazing retriever. He excels in obedience
class and will take his CGC test next week.
